Mr. Bryce Hawkins

Chairman of the Board, Founder shareholder.
Bryce is a business consultant and Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in corporate development and Management. For a number of years he was a senior consultant with Price Waterhouse where he specialized in corporate recovery and development.
Professor Robin Carrell
FRSNZ, FRCP, FRCPath, FRACP, FRS
Founder shareholder
Robin studied Medicine at the University of Otago and completed his PhD at Cambridge under Professor Lehmann. He was appointed to a personal chair in Clinical Biochemistry at the Christchurch School of Medicine and in 1986 appointed Professor of Haematology at the University of Cambridge, England. He is an acknowledged world expert on haemoglobin stability and procedures to prepare stable haemoglobin solutions.
Dr Maurice Owen
BSc(Hons), PhD, BD, FACB
Scientific Director
Maurice worked with Robin Carrell in Clinical Biochemistry at Christchurch, New Zealand, and for a period at the University of Cambridge, England. He has published in the fields of haemoglobin, α1-antitrypsin and antithrombin-3 with a focus on the molecular pathology of variants. He has extensive experience in protein purification and stabilization methods and a broad knowledge of large scale lyophilization of proteins, and quality control materials.
Colin Averill
LLB, FNZIM
Colin is a former partner and now a consultant of Lane Neave, a leading law firm in Christchurch. He is chairman of the University of Canterbury Foundation and a director of several companies.
Mr John Barr
BSc, FNZIM, MInstD
John is a professional director and provides governance and business operational and holistic advice at Managing Director/Owner level primarily for SMEs. Other roles include the St George’s Hospital Society Advisory Committee, the NZ Trade & Enterprise Beachheads programme and membership of the GlobalScots Scottish business support network.
John has chief executive and directorship experience across a broad range of industry environments, covering manufacturing, contract manufacturing, technology and electricity company trusts. Directorship and governance roles began in 1990. He is a past National President of the NZ Organisation for Quality.

Dr Neil Pattinson

Chief Executive Officer
Neil completed his PhD at the Christchurch School of Medicine (Univ of Otago) where he worked for 14yrs as a Research Fellow within the Dept of Gastroenterology. Following this he joined Life Technologies/Invitrogen as their Research Manager and later filled the role of Site Manager for the Proteins Separation unit in Christchurch. Neil brings with him significant knowledge in protein separation and function together with broad corporate leadership and management experience within the Biotech sector.
Mr Richard Fowler
BSc, RMT(np)
Production manager /Quality Manager
Richard has a BSc in biochemistry and a non practicing certificate as a Registered Medical Laboratory Scientist. He has managed a diagnostic laboratory for 13 years and has a detailed knowledge of the industry.
Dr Peter Elliott
B.Agr.Sc, M.Appl.Sc, PhD
Senior Scientist
Peter did his PhD under Professor Robin Carrell with Professor David Lomas in the Department of Haematology at the University of Cambridge, England. During his PhD, he solved the first crystal structure of intact α1-antitrypsin and published a number of papers on clinically relevant variants of α1-antitrypsin. He has extensive experience in the purification and analysis of proteins.
Mrs Fiona Gurevin

Financial Controller
Fiona has had a number of years experience in accounting and is the company's accountant.
Miss Cassandra Guignion

Quality and Operations Scientist
Cass is involved with the implementation and maintenance of the company quality system, including product quality assurance. Additionally, she responds to customer orders/enquiries and is involved in the scheduling of production.
