Canterbury Scientific has over 20 years of experience in preparing stabilised hemoglobin controls.  Whether we are supplying standard extendSURE kits for Hemoglobin Controls, Serum and Plasma Controls and Serpins, Calibrators, or customised products to suit a particular client need, we undertake the same high quality production process.

Customisation

Canterbury Scientific will optimise control products for individual analytical platforms or for individual clinical requirements by blending to desired levels.  We can identify and develop the best formulation for a specific instrument. This results in maximum stability and robustness for the specific platform (Boutique research).

Canterbury Scientific can also design a complete finished quality control kitset that includes packaging, labeling, instruction inserts in multiple languages, instrument bar code cards, etc.  We will obtain necessary regulatory requirements such as CE mark for sales into Europe and other countries. Ethical production

Our products have the unique benefit of avoiding any ethical issues around using blood donated from people with diabetes, as we use in vitro glycation to produce controls from non-diabetic blood. Glycation is the non-enzymatic addition of a sugar to a protein. In this case it is the addition of glucose to haemoglobin.

Controls are suitable for use on the major types of HbA1c analysers (Ion exchange HPLC, Immuno Assay, and Boronate Affinity) and are available in either a liquid or lyophilised form.

Quality manufacture

All of our products are manufactured according to FDA Current Good Manufacturing Procedures (21 CFR820), and we are accredited under ISO 13485:2003.
